Apparently cooked in open pans (not the vacuum pans plus loads of modified starch you sometimes get). Great chilli kick without it being offensively hot.

Bad Points: None really - unless you don't like chilli at all!

General comments: This is one of two organic chutneys in the EPC range (the other is Spicy Onion I think). They are in the usual distinctive square glass jars. I bought mine in ASDA though I have also recently found they have an online shop. The thing that strikes you most is the firm texture. Most other branded chutneys are becoming increasingly watery. As a result its more concentrated and a little goes a long way, making it really good value for money. Also, unlike some organic brands you could mention, the organic 'premium' you pay is actually quite small. I also like the Spicy Onion but that is VERY peppery and yet also quite sweet. Of the two, I prefer this one.

Full review at http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews163455.html

And what the blogs' say.....

Ham and cucumber wrap
By headhoncho(headhoncho)
Then I scurried off to the kitchen to fix something together. The winners will be announced at a commemorative lunch in London on 13th February. The awards, sponsored by SHS Sales and Marketing, celebrate the best brands in UK grocery today using a rigorous two stage judging process: first, Cambridge Market Research put together a 50-strong consumer panel to sample the 170 products, across 18 different categories. These were scored on 10 criteria including smell, taste, texture, value for money and packaging. It also rated them for innovation, relevance, and both pre and post-trial purchasing intention.

The 66 shortlisted products were then judged by an expert panel that included former Somerfield Chief Executive and Littlewoods Chairman David Simons, and celebrity food critic Nigel Barden.

This year's Christmas number one!

It's still only early December, and, judging by our own weekend shopping experiences, throngs are already appearing in food stores up and down the land to make a start on the vexed issue of inspirational Christmas entertaining.
