Meet The Team

925231-1271310-thumbnail.jpgMark Bosworth is our Marketing Controller. That means looking after all aspects of English Provender’s marketing (including the bits you might not be aware of) which involves communicating with those who need to know about what we’re doing - other than those who actually buy the products!

“I’ve been in the food industry for almost twenty years and have seen many things come and go. But one constant is the demand for well made food that delivers on its promises. That’s why I’m proud to be part of English Provender. We all love good food here and so we waste very little time disagreeing on our core values”.

“It might sound a bit twee, but seeing your products in the major supermarkets where they are available to everyone is such a thrill. The downside is having to do all the number-crunching on market reports, brand share etc etc.. We keep a very close eye on retail activity - mainly what retailers are doing, and how we can help them to deliver even better overall service to all we shoppers (yes, we always consider ourselves part of the same market: there’s no ‘consumer versus supplier’ mindset with us). We also take a close interest in the wider world of food and food issues – as you’ll see from some of the discussion threads we have.

We also like experimenting, although its fair to say that ‘traditional’ products are still our main focus because they still hit the right spot. A bit like saying good design never goes out of fashion. My personal favourite is Luxury Lemon Curd. I bake bread when I can and this plus fresh bread equals heaven.

I like cooking. It’s very therapeutic and I prefer to keep things simple. Food is part of a fragile ecosystem and we’ve all seen what happens when we start doing things that are ‘un-natural’. I’m personally pleased that food is becoming more costly too. It has a value to us all that we’ve lost sight of in this age of the ‘BOGOF’. My personal mission is not to throw any food away. It’s not as easy as I thought though! “

925231-1271326-thumbnail.jpgRachel Talintyre is our Brand Manager, her job involves ensuring that the products available are the best quality and deliver what people expect from the English Provender brand. Indeed she is the brand custodian making sure the brand values are upheld and people understand what we are about. Her day to day job includes working with agencies to develop advertising campaigns and raising consumer awareness of the brand. As well as visiting the kitchen to try the delicious new product Libby and her team have developed!.

Rachel has a keen interest in home grown fruit and vegetables having been brought up on them. She says “Nothing beats freshly picked fruit and vegetables from the garden – and of course they taste superior to anything you buy. Although I have a small garden, I try to grown my own tomatoes in the summer and will be looking at what other vegetables I can grow in pots this year.

As I have a sweet tooth my favourite product is Very Lazy Raspberry Coulis drizzled over Pavlova’s or on some vanilla ice cream.”

Angela Macaulay works part time for English Provender Company as Marketing Administrator. Angela deals with consumer enquiries received via our website and blog, as well as competition entries and prizes and keeping the site generally topical and up to date. A large part of her role is the organisation of our stand for the BBC Good Food Show which we attend each year – no mean feat! Angela also co-ordinates and produces our in-house company newsletter The Buckner Croke Bugle, as it is important that we market ourselves internally and communicate and involve our staff in what is going on in and around the company, as well as promoting our products and activities to the outside world.

“I don’t profess to be a great cook (although I do try!) but the beauty of English Provender Company products is that they can make even the most ordinary meal so much better. My store cupboard is full of the products – I love trying them all. The “Very Lazy” range suits me fine - trusty favourites are Very Lazy Red Chillies to spice things up, Very Lazy Caramelised Red Onion – a spoonful added to gravy is delicious and of course, to finish off any meal or as a snack, chopped fruit dipped into Very Lazy Belgian Chocolate Sauce – a great way to get through your “five a day!"
